A unique handmade artwork ceramic figurine, "Marietto" belongs to the series of small, original sculptures with fully-formed facial expressions and decorated bodies. For each of my figurines there is a background story of sorts.
So, let's take this figure you're looking at, for a moment. This is Marietto. A Mediterranean „macho man“, a bit in love with himself, he's usually and self-assuredly parading through the town, flexing his muscles, trying to get the attention of the local girls. Yet, unfortunately he sometimes gets rejected by them. He's a symbol of the local folklore, full of humor and tenacity - he'll never give up looking for his particular kind of love.
That's at least my idea of "Marietto".
